Weekend Travels in Europa
Autumn is finally here! Are you up for an adventure over the autumn holidays, a Christmas market in a big city or just a good pulse and a dream hotel? Here are four top travel destinations this winter. And where do you find them!
The summer may have rained away a little, but no panic. Autumn in Europe is fantastic, here there is both warmth and the pulse of the big city. And if you long for further afield, hotels can be found on the other side of the Atlantic.
Now you can book your own dream trip – hotel only, flight only or the whole package – with TUI. They now gather the best hotels in one place, and you have thousands of options to choose from. Here we suggest four dream destinations where you can find the best hotels for your particular trip.
London – autumn coziness, Christmas market and city puls
Despite the weather, London in winter is a truly lovely experience – so much more than just Christmas markets, but oh my what Christmas markets. Here you will find everything from large markets such as Borough Market to slightly smaller, cozy food markets such as the Southbank Center right on the banks of the River Thames. And Hyde Park turns into a winter wonderland with fun for the whole family.
Choose a central hotel and you will be close to everything. You’ll find everything from luxury boutique hotels to budget bargains at TUI. Once there, you can enjoy a long brunch at Christofer’s in Covent Garden (which is said to have “the world’s best french toast”), tuck into one of the city’s cozy pubs, such as the classic The Churchill Arms in Kensington, or visit a world-class restaurant. Tallinn – Eastern Europe’s most beautiful city?
It’s easy to fall in love with Tallinn in autumn – the medieval architecture, lively city center and historical culture all framed in warm colours. But even in winter, the city is a wonderful experience.
How you choose a hotel in Tallinn obviously depends on what you’re looking for, but you’ll find plenty of options at TUI. Most tourist attractions can be found in the charming old town centre, Vanalinn, where you can also easily walk everywhere. If you fancy a spa, there are hotels with luxurious spa and wellness areas. If you want to shop, the Rotermann quarter is great. And if you are traveling with children, a visit to Northern Europe’s largest trampoline park, Super Skypark, can be a success.
For those interested in art and architecture, the whole of Tallinn is a goldmine, a tip is the Kadriog art museum, which is known both for its beautiful exterior and the incredible art collection housed there. Simply made for a wonderful city holiday.
Rome – a historical city of culture
If you fancy going on a journey through ancient works of art and first-class food and drink – then Rome is the destination for you. The city’s streets form a museum of their own, where new discoveries and experiences hide behind every corner. If you book a hotel in the center, you are close to the classics such as the Colosseum or the Vatican, where you can catch a glimpse of Michelangelo’s famous ceiling paintings.
If it’s a romantic weekend you’re after, you’ve come to the right place – what can compare to a walk along winding streets, a heavenly gelato at Gelateria del Teatro and a romantic dinner on Hotel Palazzo Manfredi’s roof terrace with a view of the Colosseum.
No matter what you want to focus on during your trip to Rome, you can find great hotels close to everything at TUI.

New York – the metropolis that is always awake
Two words that can change your view of travel forever: New. York. The city that never sleeps, the big apple, the capital of the world – dear child has many names and with New York it’s not hard to see why. The hotels are many and spread out. In Lower Manhattan you will find, among other things, Wall Street. Battery Park and the ferry out to the Statue of Liberty. If you live further north, you will find the luxury area of the Upper East Side, where the shopping is exclusive and the restaurants fantastic. Book your weekend trips to New York here.
A hot tip is also to get out of Manhattan and visit one of the four suburbs (boroughs). In Brooklyn, for example, you will find The Williamsburg Hotel, which houses one of Brooklyn’s best bakeries – Brooklyn Bread Lab. Well worth a trip over the bridge. At TUI you will find your accommodation, in the middle of Manhattan or in one of the city’s quieter areas.
